In order to acquire Ukrainian citizenship under a simplified procedure, it is not enough to only have grounds, but also certain conditions must be met: observation of Constitution and other laws; obtain documents for a residence permit and immigration permit; legally live in Ukraine for 5 years; have a legitimate source of income; not be convicted. If a person observes the rules, then he can expect a positive result and obtaining a Ukrainian passport.
It is worth mentioning that there is a category of people who cannot obtain Ukrainian citizenship: those who committed grave offences, and those who convicted crimes against humanity (unless their convictions were cancelled and lifted).
What documents are required for issuance of citizenship in Ukraine
The simplified procedure means foreigners being it with submission documents to the migration services. The list of documents depends on provisions of issuance a citizenship by a state of citizenship. The documents are the following:
- An application;
- 5 photos;
- A passport and its notary certified translation;
- A document confirming knowledge of Ukrainian;

- A non-conviction certificate;
