The basis for obtaining a residence permit on the basis of “Family Reunification” is the fact that a foreigner is married to a citizen of Ukraine.
A temporary residence permit is a document that gives a foreigner the right to legally reside on the territory of Ukraine and partially gives him the same rights and responsibilities that citizens of Ukraine have.
The permit is usually issued for one year with the possibility of renewal every year.
It is also interesting that after two years of being married to a citizen of Ukraine, a foreigner can obtain an immigration permit and a permanent residence permit in Ukraine and subsequently even acquire Ukrainian citizenship.

Procedure for obtaining a temporary permit based on “Family Reunification”
After a foreigner has received a long-term visa type “D-14” and arrived in Ukraine, he/she can submit an application for a temporary residence permit to the territorial division of the State Migration Service of Ukraine (but no later than 15 working days before the expiration date ) validity of visa D).

- In case of initiation of criminal proceedings.
- If the actions of a foreigner threaten the safety of Ukrainian citizens – they threaten their life, health or have a terrorist bias.
- If there is a court decision on the forced deportation of a foreigner.
