WHAT IS A TEMPORARY PLACE OF REGISTRATION AND WHY IT IS NEEDED
According to statistics, approximately every third adult Ukrainian does not live at the place of official registration. This causes certain difficulties in obtaining administrative, medical and other services. Often, in order to take advantage of legal rights to change documents or receive state assistance, a person is forced to go to another city and contact the local government authorities at the place of residence.
The problem of lack of a place of registration is especially acute in large cities, where people come to study or work. If a person plans to live at a certain address for more than 3 months, he needs to issue a temporary place of registration. This will ensure a legal stay in the city and the right to receive all social benefits.
But if a Ukrainian can ignore the requirement of the law, then for foreigners the question of the place of registration is more acute. When staying in Ukraine for a long period of time, a citizen of another country must apply to the migration service if such a person will stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days, and register his place of residence. Otherwise, after one or three months, he can be fined, deported, and even banned from issuing a visa for crossing the border.
It is worth noting that in the recent past, obtaining and continuing registration required special permission. The rules have been simplified in the 12 years since Ukraine became an independent state. The authorities do not set requirements regarding the quality of the place of residence, the number of registered citizens, sanitary standards, etc.
A note about the presence of registration is placed in the residence permit. In addition, the citizen is issued a certificate and data is entered into the state register. Only government officials can get access to this information.
WHAT DOCUMENTS DO FOREIGNERS NEED FOR TEMPORARY REGISTRATION
The temporary registration of a foreign citizen is issued at the Center for the provision of administrative services. If for some reason a person cannot come alone, an officially certified representative has the right to do so.
To receive registration, you need:
Statement;
residence permit;
receipt for payment of state duty;
certificates or other documents confirming the right to reside at a certain address.
If a foreigner cannot provide a lease agreement or a notarized consent of the home owner to move in and obtain a residence permit, the owner must come to the Center on his own.
