Nowadays very often foreigners are employed at Ukrainian companies or by the branches of foreign companies located in Ukraine. For this, they get work permits that are bases for obtaining temporal residence permits in Ukraine. When the employment contract ends, both documents (work and residence permits) are to be returned to the public authorities. It is very important to finish this procedure correctly not to have problems with documents in future.
Grounds for returning of a work permit
There are two cases when the work permit must be returned. First case – if the contract ends. Second – if the contract was early terminated. Ending of the work permit automatically means ending of temporal residence permit, as you lose the legal basis for it.
Stages of work permit returning
After the force of your employment contract stops, you will have to return the permits, and then leave Ukraine in 7 days. The documents are to be submitted to the State Migration Service and State Employment Service of Ukraine. The obligation of documents returning lays on the inviting party (the employer). If they fail to return the permits, they will not be valid, but the foreigner may have problems during his next entry into Ukraine.
This procedure is not difficult, but the state gives us only 7 days to do everything and leave Ukraine. All bureaucratic procedures are always very time-consuming and exhausting. Thus, it may be useful to entrust it to professionals, in order to save your time and nerves.
