It is a matter of fact that sometimes people can get into unforeseen circumstances and lose or damage important documents. This can happen simply by negligence, or as a result of some tragic events like theft and other troubles. For example, recently, there are widespread cases when foreigners living in the Crimea or the Donetsk or Lugansk region, become victims of forcible seaze of temporal residence permits.
If you need to restore temporal residence permit, you have to prove that for the first time got it legally. This means that you will need to submit the documents on which you had received it before. If your residence permit is not lost, but just damaged, you can submit it. If you lost it, it must inform the local police department. They will record that this document is no more valid and destroy it if it is found. The mechanism of recovery of temporary residence is similar to the procedure for its extension after expiration.
You must apply to the local department of the State Migration Service at the place of your residence. You must submit the following documents:
- Passport and its copy;
- Copy of lost or damaged residence permit;
- Documents that were the ground for your permit;
- Bank receipts (payments of the cost of services and the state fee);
- Two photos size 35 x 45 mm (on matte paper).
The next task is to fill in an application (according to the example that may be found at the State Migration Service) attentively and without mistakes. All the payments that were made for the first residence permit, are to be made again.
The procedure is the same too. If you do everything in a proper way, you will receive you new temporal residence permit in 7 days.
As usual, mistakes in documents, fraud and state danger are the grounds for refusal in receiving you a temporal residence permit.
