In case of loss or theft of a residence permit, a foreigner or stateless person or their legal representative must first notify the SMS in writing within three working days, and in case of theft – also the National Police. A foreigner or stateless person is issued a new residence permit to replace the lost or stolen one in accordance with the procedure established for its exchange.
Where to apply for a new residence permit in connection with the loss of the previous one?
To obtain a new residence permit in connection with the loss of the previous one, you will need to apply to the territorial unit of the SMS at your place of residence or to representative offices in Ukraine.
Also, from now on, foreigners and stateless persons (STPs) can apply for a permanent residence permit in Ukraine at the Warsaw Passport Service (Poland), Berlin Passport Service (Germany), Bratislava Passport Service (Slovakia), Madrid Passport Service (Spain) and Istanbul Passport Service (Turkey).
What documents are required?
● A valid passport of a foreigner;
● translation of the passport document into Ukrainian;
● a document proving the identity of the legal representative and a document confirming the authority of the person as a legal representative, if the documents are submitted by the legal representative;
● documents confirming the circumstances or legal facts under which the certificate is subject to exchange, documents issued by the competent authorities of foreign countries must be legalised in accordance with the established procedure, unless otherwise provided by international agreements of Ukraine;
● a document confirming payment of the administrative fee;
● a document confirming registration in the State Register of Individual Taxpayers, with data on the registration number of the taxpayer’s account card (if any);
● an extract from the register of the territorial community (if available);
● in case of damage to the certificate, the original of such certificate.
How long does it take to issue a new residence permit in Ukraine?
The period for issuing a new residence permit is up to 15 working days.
